Challenge
The existing brand no longer supported CyBourn’s growth trajectory. Its visual language and messaging lacked cohesion, making it difficult to communicate credibility, scale, and strategic capability across digital and marketing touch-points.
My Role
As the sole designer, I led the rebrand end-to-end, defining a scalable visual identity system and establishing comprehensive brand guidelines. I translated the new direction into a cohesive website experience and extended the brand across digital and marketing channels.
From early strategy through final execution, I shaped the visual language, typography, and color system, ensuring consistency across web and collateral applications.
Brand Research & Insights
Stakeholder interviews and competitive analysis surfaced three strategic gaps in the brand.
• Technical language dominated the messaging, making it difficult to connect with broader audiences. The brand needed a clearer, more direct voice.
• The tone prioritized systems over people. While technically strong, it lacked relatability and resonance for decision-makers.
• The visual identity lacked distinction. The design felt static and indistinct within a competitive cybersecurity landscape.
These insights shaped both the identity system and web direction, repositioning the brand as clear, confident, and differentiated.

Design Process & Deliverables
I established a cohesive visual identity system that unified CyBourn’s digital and marketing presence.
Key elements of the system included:
A refined logo, simplifying the original symbol for improved scalability and balance, paired with a modern wordmark to create a stronger lockup.
A structured typography system establishing clear hierarchy across digital and print applications.
A refreshed color palette introducing stronger contrast and depth to increase distinction within the cybersecurity market.
Custom illustrations that clarified complex services and made technical concepts more accessible.
A modular layout system enabling consistency across web and marketing materials.
The website was fully redesigned to improve navigation and content structure, ensuring the brand spoke effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Solution
A cohesive brand system and redesigned website that aligned CyBourn’s visual language, messaging, and digital presence under a unified direction.

Results & Impact
The rebrand delivered measurable improvements across brand perception, social engagement, and digital performance:
Brand recognition improved by 16% within the first quarter following rollout, supported by consistent application of the new identity across all client-facing materials.
Social media engagement increased by 21% after implementing the refreshed visual system and clarified messaging.
The new website, grounded in the refreshed identity system, drove a 16% increase in inbound inquiries within the first quarter.
